Digital signage is an innovative technology that enables effective presentation and communication of information. On the other hand, security authentication technologies are essential for protecting data and information. In this context, let’s consider the integration of digital signage and security authentication technologies.
Digital signage is used for purposes such as advertising, information dissemination, and guidance. The use of digital media is on the rise, and businesses and organizations are seeking more effective ways to convey information. However, the use of digital signage raises security concerns, such as information tampering and misuse, which have become significant issues.
To address these challenges, the integration of digital signage and security authentication technologies is crucial. Security authentication technologies provide functions such as data encryption and access control, ensuring the security of digital signage content and information.
Maple Signage is actively working on integrating security authentication technologies into its cloud-based digital signage software offerings. Maple Signage’s software features advanced security capabilities that can enhance the security of digital signage.
Maple Signage’s software offers functions such as encryption of digital signage content and information, access control, and user authentication. This helps mitigate risks such as unauthorized access, data tampering, and misuse, strengthening the security of digital signage.
Comprehensive Cloud Security
The editor, referred to as the “Online Studio,” is a rich client application that runs within a web browser. Using the online editor, users can create, edit, and manage their digital signage content. This is Maple Signage’s internal IP. The connectivity between Maple Signage components (database, servers, statistics, and monitoring components) is secured within the cloud. There is no impact on user players/screens due to this connectivity.
HTTPS (SSL) is used for Maple Signage Online Studio, available for implementation on partners’ subdomains with associated implementation costs, Monitoring & Reports tool, and the Management Console. All these modules can also operate in regular HTTP mode.
・HTTP/S protocol is used to connect to Maple Signage SaaS cloud.
・The Online Studio is secured with SSL, user authentication, and encrypted passwords.
・All user passwords in the database are also encrypted.
・All media is stored on the Maple Signage Storage cloud and secured on Amazon S3 Cloud Servers.
Safe and Secure Content Updates
Maple Signage’s Digital Signage software can be installed on Android, Windows, and Chrome OS devices. Once installed, the software checks for playlist updates every 2 minutes and retrieves any changes from the server. Users can customize the refresh rate.
Requests to the server are made via the HTTP protocol (port 80), and they use the Maple Signage REST API to query the server for playlist changes.
All media files (videos, images, etc.) are cached locally on the media player. YouTube, Ustream, polls, games, and any other streaming widgets are not cached on the player and require constant internet access.
・HTTP protocol (port 80) is used with Maple Signage REST API for cloud updates.
・A 2-minute refresh rate with user-configurable options.
・Images, videos, and other media are cached locally on the media player.
Furthermore, Maple Signage’s software offers users flexible customization options. Businesses and organizations can select the necessary security features in accordance with their own security policies.
The use of digital signage is expanding, and the integration of security authentication technologies is a critical element. With Maple Signage’s software, businesses and organizations can utilize digital signage with confidence. Maple Signage’s software, with enhanced security measures and flexibility, brings new possibilities to the world of signage.
